Waste touches all aspects of how we live, work and play in our city - having long term impacts on our environment and contributing to Wellington's carbon emissions. To become a net zero carbon capital by 2050, we need people who have the skills, experience and commitment to manage and minimise waste.

Our new Waste Strategy team, formed to help the Council meet its bold goals, is focused on implementing the zero waste strategy, and naturally people in our team are wanting to be the champions of change - making a difference for generations to come.

The role & you

As our Waste Planner you'll support the delivery of actions to implement the Zero Waste Strategy and associated work programmes. You'll be involved in project around kerbside rubbish reviews, organics collection, construction and development waste diversion - just to name a few.
