Job Description
General Summary:
Understands and applies Henry Ford Hospital Medical Center mission statement by assisting in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating the activities occurring in the nursing station by performing clerical and receptionist duties and maintaining the physical environment of the area.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
+ Transcribes and transmits doctor orders and confers with registered nurse regarding scheduling patient's activities and tests.
+ Performs clerical functions within the unit clerk sphere of responsibility by communication with other members of the health care team.
+ Courteously answers telephone and intercom, takes messages, and communicates messages to the appropriate person.
+ Documents and maintains records and charts.
+ Performs clerical duties related to the admission and discharge of patients.
+ Orders supplies and equipment in appropriate amounts, receives and stores items in proper area.
