Detailed Overview

Under general supervision, performs a variety of clerical duties related to the operation of an outpatient care area including scheduling and booking appointments and registering patients. Acts as a communication link for the area, transcribing and processing physicians' orders, coordinating with other departments and facilities, arranging patient tests and receiving results, receiving and directing patients and visitors, and assembling and maintaining patient charts. Responsibilities Schedules and books outpatient appointments by receiving appointment requests, making follow up appointments, adjusting appointments in accordance with patient and facility requirements, and assigning to the appropriate time, date and location.
