Education
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
Responsibilities
- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
- Demonstrate professionalism in customer service.
- Obtain special permits and documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
- Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
- Perform brake adjustments.
- Perform pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle.
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
- Secure cargo with tarps and ensure safety and security of the load.
- Transport and handle dangerous goods.
