Description:

This position cares for patients before, during and after angiography, interventional, angiographic cardiac catheterization procedures. This includes pre-procedure assessment, pre-medication, documentation of cath process, post-cath care, patient education. Scrubs in for procedures and assists other members of the cardiac catheterization laboratory.

Responsibilities

(35%)* Performs nursing care of the catheterization/angiography patient.

(35%)* Operates equipment, i.e., cardiac output, hemodynamic, pacemakers/ICD s, intraaortic balloon pump, etc. Transfers patients, stocks supplies and performs basic office procedures.

(15%)* Scrubs in for procedures with the physician.

(15%)* Records all pertinent information on appropriate data sheets.
