Description:

This position cares for patients before, during, and after angiography, interventional, angiographic cardiac catheterization procedures, and other diagnostic testing and procedures. This includes pre-procedure assessment, pre-medication, documentation of cath process, post-cath care, and patient education. Scrubs in for procedures and assists other members of the cardiac catheterization laboratory.

Responsibilities

(35%)* Performs nursing care of the catheterization/angiography cardiovascular patient. Conducts other cardiac diagnostic nursing procedures according to department protocol. Assisting in stress echocardiogram, routine treadmill exam, nuclear and pharmacologic stress testing, tilt table, echocardiograms (NS/Definity), cardioversions, and transesophageal echocardiograms.
