Receives direction from the Operating Room Manager, Supervisor, Specialty Team Leader, and staff Registered Nurse. Works cooperatively with the surgeon, PAs/NPs, residents, fellows, and other allied health staff. Performs delegated activities to assist in the care of the patients in the operating room/procedure rooms. Under the supervision of an RN and in collaboration with the surgeon, the technologist functions primarily in the scrub role. Collaborates on developing best practice protocols and workflows for new procedures and transplants. Is responsible for selecting, preparing, and maintaining specific specialty instrumentation, equipment, and supplies. Provides a safe, efficient environment for the surgical patient.
