Summary The Bureau of Labor Statistics measures labor market activity, working conditions, price changes, and productivity in the U.S. economy to support public and private decision making. This position is with the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Economic Analysis and Information (EA&I) Division of a BLS regional office. Responsibilities Duties include but not limited to: Serves as the senior economist on the immediate staff of the Regional Commissioner and provides consultative services to the Regional Commissioner and Regional Management on a variety of sub-national BLS data products. Plans, directs, supervises, and monitors preparation of major regional BLS publications suitable for the mass media such as a press releases and analysis of economic data in the region.
