SUMMARY

This position is a training position for hog buying. In this role, you will begin work in the livestock receiving alleys at the plant.

Responsibilities include:

  • Sorting, counting, weighing, tattooing, permanently identifying, and penning livestock according to segregation programs.
  • Training with hog buyers in the field.
  • Providing vacation relief for hog buyers after adequate training.
  • Managing the scheduling of livestock deliveries at the plant in the later stages of training.
  • Upon completing the program, you should be qualified to apply for openings in hog buying. This role involves learning:
  • Tyson Hog Procurement Programs.
  • Carcass merit.
  • Harvest sheet information.
  • Weight docks.
  • Other buying procedures.
