Standwell Forest Investments sits at the intersection of forestry, climate finance and indigenous economic partnerships. It is the vision of David Brand, the founder and former Chair and CEO of New Forests, to help reinvigorate the forest industry in BC. The newly formed, purpose-driven investment platform’s vision is to partner with First Nations and local communities to acquire, repurpose and recapitalize forestry and associated wood processing assets, link them to carbon payments or other sources of option value, and manage forests and processing assets for sustainable fibre yield and local economic development. Standwell has brought together a consortium of national and international investors ready to participate in deals, moving quickly from formation to active capital deployment across a pipeline of transformative deals across BC’s coastal and interior regions.
