Job Description
UPMC Altoona is looking for a fulltime Sr. Histotechnician to work Monday-Friday daylight. No weekends No Holidays.
_We're excited to offer sign-on bonuses for qualified Histo Techs who join our team:_
_$20,000 for those with 1+ years of experience with a 2-year full-time commitment_
_Plus, earn an additional $10,000 upon completion of your third year of employment._
Responsibilities:
+ Process and prepare surgical and autopsy tissue specimens for embedding, cutting, staining and cover slipping. Embed and cut specialized tissue based on location including minute biopsy protocols. Perform QC checks at each phase of processing/ staining. Ensure all tissues are embedded and cut according to department specific protocols with proper orientation and complete sections including no folds, chatter, artifacts or floaters. Accurately prepares slides for microtomy using the barcode label in order to maintain correct patient identification throughout the pro...
