We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate NYS Certified Special Education Teacher. The successful candidate will work with children ages 4 - 13 with a range of special needs and disabilities, creating individualized educational plans to help each student reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Work with small groups of students on activities focused on goal acquisition, social skills and communication in accordance with teacher established lesson plans and a student's IEP
- Implement behavior plans in accordance with student's BIPs and classroom behavior management strategies and collect data when needed for progress monitoring
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers
- Carryover daily school routines
- Work on ADL skills
- Go on community outings to practice real-life skills
- Work with individual student(s) or small groups of students on special instructional curriculum/projects/lessons...
