Waltham Forest Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Assessment Team. This is a fast-paced frontline role focused on completing timely assessments, identifying risk, and ensuring children and families receive the right support at the earliest opportunity.

You will work with children and families from the point of referral, undertaking assessments and developing plans that safeguard children and promote positive outcomes through effective multi-agency working and relationship-based practice.

In this role, you will:

Undertake Child and Family Assessments

Complete Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries and investigations

Manage Child in Need and Child Protection cases during the assessment stage

Assess risk and develop outcome-focused plans for children and families
