A person in this position as a sworn police officer performs general duties in the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances. This is a responsible supervisory position. Work involves the assigning of and evaluating of subordinates assigned to the Patrol Section. Work is performed in accordance with specific oral and written orders from a superior and department policies and procedures, but with considerable independence of action in choosing specific methods and techniques.
