Job Overview
The z/OS Systems Engineer is responsible for day-to-day production support and engineering of mainframe systems, as well as project-related activities. This role ensures stability, performance, and security of z/OS environments while collaborating with managed service vendors across engineering, operations, and application support. Responsibilities include managing operating systems, hardware, and software; integrating with distributed/cloud platforms; and performing performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery testing.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
ββ’ Install, configure, and maintain z/OS and related software components.
ββ’ Monitor system performance, conduct capacity planning, and optimize for efficiency.
ββ’ Implement and manage security measures (RACF/Top Secret).
ββ’ Troubleshoot and resolve complex mainframe issues.
