Job Description:
  • The Histotechnician V will perform routine and special paraffin histotechnology duties in a state-of-the-art, CAP-certified pathology laboratory.
  • Under the guidance of a Senior or Lead Histotechnologist, the role is responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic materials within established turnaround times.
    • Responsibilities:
  • Embed, cut, stain, and perform tasks required to process tissue in the Immunohistochemistry laboratory.
  • Perform accurate gross descriptions on tissue samples.
  • Perform quality control procedures for each method and maintain accurate records.
  • Operate laboratory instruments and equipment according to written procedures and identify equipment issues.
  • Meet established turnaround time and productivity standards.
  • Identify testing errors, discrepancies, or problems and notify appropriate personnel.
