SMMIS is looking to hire an experienced SENDCO (Head of Inclusion) to start in August 2026.
SENDCO (Head of Inclusion) To lead, develop and oversee the implementation of the school's SEND (Inclusion) strategy and policy. To manage the Inclusion Team (SEND & ESAL), and to deliver relevant training for all staff. To assess children who have long or short-term additional learning needs and work with colleagues to identify individual students' additional educational needs. To assess, record and report on the progress, development and attainment of students, and to participate in Raising Attainment meetings. To ensure the effective/efficient deployment of classroom support (Inclusion Team) in the classroom. To undertake a designated programme of teaching for students with additional needs. To maintain a high level of knowledge and awareness of the changes and developments in the fields of SEND Education.
