Job Description

New Directions Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant from September on a full time basis, to support learners with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health challenges, Communication Needs, Autism and PDA in a mainstream primary school settings within East Leeds. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children who need that extra support to thrive.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have a strong understanding of trauma-informed practices and therapeutic behaviour support strategies.
  • Are trained in Team-Teach or other positive behaviour management techniques.
  • Display a calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with young learners.
  • Have strong behaviour management skills and are able to support children in regulating their emotions.
