Job Description

To support the operation, an opportunity exists for a Second Officer to join our fleet with an immediate start.

What You'll Do

  • Stand a bridge watch at sea or at anchor 
  • Draw up passage planning from port to port for each voyage the vessel undertakes 
  • Assist Master as required in creation of mud maps for areas and ensure all control sheets are completed
  • Ensure all radio checks are performed in accordance with legislation and all other bridge equipment is working in accordance with required specifications
  • Deliver induction to all new crew onboard the vessel. 
  • OH&S onboard representative, responsible for running a monthly OH&S meeting 
  • In liaison with the Chief Officer ensure that all safety and firefighting equipment is properly maintained and meets survey requirements
