About the role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Scientist Unit Manager (SUM) to lead our Diagnostic Genetics team. This is an excellent opportunity to join New Zealand's largest highly specialised hospital-based laboratory service. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for the effective operational, scientific, and administrative management of the unit, while supporting the delivery of organisational strategic objectives.

You will work in close partnership with Clinical Leaders, Quality, IT, Professional Leader and Operations teams to ensure high‑quality, safe and efficient laboratory services are delivered in line with organisational standards and regulatory requirements.
