Position Summary

Under minimal supervision, performs laboratory assistant functions. The Laboratory Assistant works closely with the Science Lab Coordinator to meet the needs of the Natural Sciences Department and faculty members. Reporting Relationship Science Lab Coordinator Essential Responsibilities 1. Follow all appropriate safety guidelines.
2. Ensure that lab areas are clean and organized.
3. Prepare lab materials for upcoming lab activities according to the schedule.
4. Put away lab materials for completed labs.
5. Refill disposables (paper towels, gloves, deionized water, soap, etc).
6. Assist lab coordinator with maintaining an updated inventory and alert lab coordinator if supplies need to be re-ordered.
7. Assist lab coordinator with re-stocking incoming supplies.
8. Assist lab coordinator in beginning & end of semester tasks.
