City Medical Specialist I / 35 hours (Part-Time)
The Office of School Health's Medical Unit's physicians provide legally mandated services based upon Health Code 49-05(b), which states that New York City Schools are required to have physician supervision for all schools. School Health physicians support children residing in all boroughs, prioritizing communities with the highest prevalence of pediatric chronic diseases and disabilities. This support is achieved through the provision of direct clinical services and case management. The physician will collaborate with community medical providers to support students with special health care needs and/or chronic diseases, such as diabetes, and through review of medical accommodations, care coordination, and care protocol development.
