Job Description
Scope of work: The Wound Care Educator (RN) is responsible for advancing evidence-based skin integrity, wound, and ostomy care practices across the organization. This role provides education, clinical consultation, and quality improvement support to nursing staff and interprofessional partners, with a strong focus on prevention and management of hospital-acquired pressure injuries (HAPIs).
The Wound Care Educator functions in an educational and consultative capacity. The role partners closely with nursing leadership, unit-based Skin Champions, and quality teams to support standardization of practice, documentation accuracy, and improved patient outcomes.Designs, delivers, and evaluates wound and ostomy care education for nursing staff, including orientation, annual competencies, and targeted unit-based education.
