Summary:
Responsible and accountable for the care of the assigned patients and who assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates the care of the patient assigned to the unit, performs clerical functions, performs RN duties as assigned, and is able to communicate with the public, physicians, and other hospital personnel.
Functions: Functions as team leader, overseeing LPNs & CNAs assigned to his/her team. Directs others to assure care is based on patient needs, values, and choices. Practices autonomously within the scope of professional standards, the rules and regulations established by the Virginia Board of Nursing, and maintains knowledge of the policies and procedures within the system.
