The TB Nurse is responsible for the case management of LTBI and MTB clients. The nurse, together with the patient and other healthcare providers, develops an individualized βcase management planβ with interventions to address the identified needs case management includes TB investigation, coordination, and Direct Observation Therapy (DOT) of medication coordinated with the healthcare provider. The TB Nurse will create and maintain medical records of persons with suspected or confirmed TB disease and write clinical summations for clinician review. The TB Nurse will collaborate with the TB team to promote best patient outcomes including adherence to therapy, completion of treatment and cure. The TB Nurse will conduct Directly Observed Therapy (DOT) for the Treatment of Tuberculosis in clinic and home health settings.
