Unit Notes
Department: ICU RN
*Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS*
- # of Beds: 33 beds, average daily census is 16
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 for adults
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, Adults sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory distress
- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Any cardiac drip, insulin, sedation
Nurse Aides: yes- based on census, will sit in 1:1s or assist on the floor as needed based on volume, Healthcare Support tech 3 days per week (M-F)
- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Nasal cannula to vent
Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): , // Self scheduling for core staff, travelers added in. Unable to guarantee block scheduling
