JOB SUMMARY
The Rewinder Assistant / Maintenance Mechanic provides support in the rewinding, repair, testing, and overhaul of electric motors, as well as in the mechanical maintenance of plant equipment. The role assists senior technicians in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient equipment operation while maintaining good workmanship, adherence to safety standards, and accurate documentation of maintenance activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist in electric motor rewinding activities including removal of old windings, cleaning of stator/rotor, installation of insulation, coil winding, varnishing, curing, and assembly.
2. Support in diagnosing basic motor faults such as insulation damage, short circuits, overheating, and abnormal operation under supervision.
3. Assist in gathering and recording motor data such as wire size, number of turns, and winding configuration.
