Respiratory Nurse Specialist

The team is based at Aintree hospital and provides inpatient cover for home oxygen assessments at Southport DGH.

Inpatient assessments and outpatient clinics for patients with Asthma, COPD, Bronchiectasis – including optimisation of treatment and promoting self‑management.

Home oxygen assessments for both inpatients and community patients – including domiciliary visits.

The role provides 7‑day cover, with weekend working on roughly a 1:8 basis.

We work closely with medical and therapy teams in the hospitals and have close links with other community respiratory services.

We support team members to learn and develop knowledge and skills – with regular teaching and opportunities to apply for university modules and stand‑alone study days as our rota allows.
