Job Description
At Houston Methodist, the Research Technician I position is responsible for assisting scientists in their laboratory investigations by performing glass washing and sterilization of laboratory glassware, supplies, and liquids. This position largely involves running glass washers and autoclave equipment as a part of our HMRI Glass Wash and Autoclave Core. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, adherence to Core processes and safety practices, and, ability to train scientists in the use of the equipment are all required. Ability to work both independently and as a part of the Core and Central Laboratory Operations Teams is vital.
Knowledge/training of HMRI Glass Wash and Autoclave Core equipment usage and procedures and basic lab safety will be provided and are part of the ongoing responsibilities of this position.
