Job Description
This position is in the laboratory of Mei-Chuan Ko, PhD, which is part of the Translational Neuroscience Program in the Department of Psychiatry, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital. The lab uses nonhuman primates to research substance use disorders, sensory processing (pain and itch), and the efficacy/therapeutic window of pharmacological treatment.
This position is grant funded.
Responsibilities:
+ Collaborate with PI to manage ongoing and prepare for new non-human primate studies, Conduct drug preparation and administration in non-human primates
+ Assist with training for new personnel regarding the use of non-human primates and the operation of lab equipment and instruments
+ Assist with specimen collection
+ Training and working with animals across different behavioral and physiological assays to collect data on a daily basis
