**Microbiology has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Scientist/Engineer 1 to join their team**

**About this Opportunity**

Reporting to Assistant Professor, the Research Scientist/Engineer 1 will perform research that is focused on understanding antiviral systems as well as antiviral therapeutics and prophylactics. This RSE1 position is research-focused and the expectation is that the candidate will be able to work under limited supervision to complete assigned research tasks and projects, demonstrating the ability to work independently.

**Key Responsibilities**

Research Lab Management 25%:

+ Managing laboratory inventory, including ordering supplies and reagents.
+ Restock laboratory supplies.
+ Functions as a backup to the senior research staff, receive/store shipments from collaborators/vendors; monitor supply inventory and alert purchasing team when low.
