**Responsibilities***
The successful candidate would work on multiple projects all related to modeling the function of the human auditory system. Responses to both natural stimuli (like speech and music) and synthetic diagnostic stimuli will be modeled. In addition to using existing datasets, the project will also entail the scheduling and collection of electroencephalography (EEG) data from human subjects. The applicant will be responsible for the designing, training, and testing models and disseminating the findings in journals and scientific conferences. A second goal is working towards several novel applications of the models once they are created. Often new techniques will need to be developed. Additional duties include assistance with regulatory compliance, mentoring of junior trainees, maintenance and sometimes fabrication of lab equipment, and other general tasks that come with part of being in an active research lab.
