The JC STEM Lab of Data Science Foundations (DSF Lab), led by Professor Zhou Xiaofang, is a highly esteemed research group within the CSE Department of HKUST. It focuses on two primary research areas. Firstly, it specializes in databases and associated techniques that enable efficient management, integration, and analysis of complex data on a large scale, catering to various applications in business, science, and personal domains. Secondly, the lab explores the convergence of databases and AI, encompassing the utilization of AI, such as large language models, to enhance databases, as well as leveraging database technology to support AI applications.
