Independent Nurse Clinician

Function as an independent nurse clinician in the Minimally Invasive Gynecological Surgery division to include the performance, interpretation, and reporting of test results, assessment of patient status, educational needs, and follow up care. Provides education for staff and community and assists with research programs.

Responsibilities

Answers the triage line, records calls, and functions independently to apply standard orders appropriately.

Returns patient and physician phone calls in a timely manner.

Determine the technical adequacy of each test and independently assesses appropriateness of each patient's testing based on established policies and protocols.

Recognize normal versus abnormal results; prepares accurate, readable report of the test; contact physician when necessary.

Assess health education needs of patient to provide ongoing evaluation of necessary instructions.
