About the department

Bassett Medical Center's Medical Inpatient units are on the 2nd and 3rd floors and are sister units, with like patient populations and workflows. The 3rd floor has a 34-bed unit, and the 2nd floor has a 24-bed unit. Our diverse patient population includes many medical diagnoses from oncology to respiratory failure to cardiac issues. Patients range from observation status, to acutely ill or those on comfort care for end of life.
