The Labor and Delivery unit at the UH MacDonald Women's Hospital provides services to care for inpatient and outpatient pregnant women up to six (6) weeks postpartum who have an acute need for care. Designated as a Level VI Labor and Delivery unit (High Risk Unit), services provided may or may not be for labor and delivery. The unit serves as the inpatient and outpatient obstetrical operating room, outpatient evaluation and testing site, recovery room, and unit for the immediate stabilization of adults and newborns.
