Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Unit: ED - # beds: 18 Beds (Fast track staffed with midlevels & LVNs) - Certs: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS - Ratios: 1 to 4 unless ICU patient would be 1 to 2 - EMR: Cerner - Charge Nurse: Shift manager & a resource nurse - Nurse Aides: ED Techs are EMT or aides from other units - Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule Weekends are Fri/Sat for nights & Sat/Sun for days - Holidays: 1 major & 1 minor - Scrub Color: Navy blue. If you wear a scrub jacket it also must be navy. If you wear an undershirt underneath your scrub top it must be navy, white, or black. - Tele: Phillips - Vents: yes - Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes - only use MD's in the ER - IV Team: No - RT 24/7: Yes - Pharmacy 24/7: Yes & Omnicell - Shifts: 12's Days: 7a-7:30p; 9a-9:30p; Mids:10a-10:30p, 11a-11:30p, 1p-1:30a, 3p-3:30a; Nights 7p-7:30a.
