Employees in this classification perform skilled work in the operation of commercial/residential refuse and recycling vehicles and equipment.

An employee in this class is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment that requires specialized training. Assignments may involve the completion of established routes as determined by management, or work orders for special collection activities. Work hours depending upon the type of collection activity may require tasks basis work and involve various start times and shifts. Work is subject to inspection for efficiency, quality of operation, and adherence to departmental policies. Work is performed under the supervision of the Solid Waste Crew Leader or Foreman.
