The Thomas P. O’Neill Library at Boston College is seeking several Reference Assistants. This is an excellent opportunity for currently enrolled graduate students in library and information science to apply library knowledge and reference service skills at a reference desk with a reputation for high standards.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent reference services to library patrons in person and via chat at the O’Neill Reference Desk during weekday evenings, weekend afternoons and evenings, and some holidays. Types of services provided include database and research tool selection, ready reference, basic technology support, directional assistance, and referrals. Work on special projects as needed, including the Answer Wall and updating material in FAQs and other online resources.
