Summary About the position: This position is Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Buckner Fitness Center Pool and Elmendorf Fitness Center Pool on JBER, AK. Applications are open to ages 16 and older. Flexible employees have work schedules that depend on the needs of the activity. You may work a minimum of 0 to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Flexible employees may be subjected to on call work in addition to hours posted on the schedule. Responsibilities Provides group and/or private swimming lessons and instruction to adults and children. Effectively communicates student progress verbally and/or in writing. Fosters student success by providing positive, timely, and corrective feedback. Instructs patrons on rules and procedures for safe swimming. Works in a swimming pool environment where they may be required to perform as a lifeguard when not actively teaching, or during their assigned classes when the instructor to student ratio does not exceed 1:1.
