Position Title
QA Specialist – Japan (Japanese to English)
Role Summary
As a QA Specialist you will be responsible for the linguistic and technical quality of English subtitles for Japanese content on major entertainment platforms. You will work closely with internal and external translators, project managers, and global teams to ensure that our deliverables meet the highest standards of accuracy, cultural relevance, and client specifications and expectations. The QA Specialist will report to the Lead Linguist.
What You’ll Do:
Review subtitles translated from Japanese to English for accuracy, tone, and consistency
Check grammar, spelling, punctuation, and creative intent to ensure the best viewer experience
Identify linguistic and technical issues, escalate when there is any doubt, and follow through until resolved
