Job Description
The Purchaser is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and buying products required for the retail store's operations. This role ensures that the right products are purchased at the right time, quality, and price to meet customer demand and support the company's profitability goals. The Purchaser works closely with suppliers, store managers, and inventory teams to maintain adequate stock levels and manage vendor relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, competitive pricing, and reliability.
- Negotiate terms, contracts, and pricing with vendors.
- Prepare and process purchase orders and monitor order status.
- Coordinate with store managers and inventory teams to forecast demand and ensure stock availability.
- Track deliveries and resolve issues related to delays, shortages, or damaged goods.
- Maintain updated supplier and product records (prices, contracts, delivery schedules).
