The Department of Psychiatry in Nanaimo are seeking a part-time General Psychiatrist to provide services at the Parksville Treatment Centre (PTC) for substance use care.

The successful candidate will be a member of and work collaboratively with other members of the PTC team. Providing psychiatric services for at least 44 weeks per year for, on average, about 7.5 hours per week, or approximately hours per year (equivalent of 0.2 FTEs, based on minimum hours of services per FTE). While the number of hours may vary each week, the Psychiatrist will manage their schedule to ensure continuity of psychiatry care for the PTC patients during the year, providing care for the PTC patients during at least 44 weeks of the year.

The patient population will be comprised of inpatients at the PTC who are there for substance use treatment for up to 90 days there will be 19 adult patients admitted at any given time who will all be experiencing substance use with co-occurring m...
