Production Lathe Operator Requirements: What It Takes to Get on the Floor

• High school diploma or GED required; machining or tech school certification preferred.


• At least one year running CNC mills or lathes—Haas, Mazak, or Okuma experience a plus.


• Skilled at reading blueprints, following specs, and using precision tools.


• Strong attention to detail and safety every shift.


• Comfortable lifting, moving, and standing for full workdays.
