MAJOR FUNCTION

: The Pre-Release Employment Navigator is a grant funded position housed within Department of Corrections.  The Pre-Release Employment Navigator (PREN) positions may cover more than one institution based on workload and proximity. The PREN services will occur through cell-front and/or in congregate settings. 

Primary duties will include, but are not limited to:

• In-person and virtual facilitation of workshops and training relative to employability and life skills.

• Administration and interpretation of assessments.

• Maintaining and providing documentation of services delivered.

• Facilitation of pre-release connections with community providers and employers through face-to-face and technology-based interactions to include pre-release job search, recruitment, and connections to post-release training and employment.
