Job Description
We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in building next-generation Foundation Models for Earth System Modeling at NYU Courant Institute School of Mathematics, Computing, and Data Science. In collaboration with Profs Carlos Fernandez-Granda, Joan Bruna, Laure Zanna, the successful candidate will focus on developing methods to capture and understand generalization in AI emulators, in particular for unseen regimes, including rare events.
The postdoc will be expected to lead independent research directions while collaborating with a team comprising domain scientists, experts in climate physics and modeling, and AI experts, as part of the international project M2 LInES (https://m2lines.github.io) .
