The laboratory delves into the intricate mechanisms governing basal and pathological bone turnover at the Immuno-skeletal Interface. This field, known as βosteoimmunology,β explores the paradoxical role of immune cells and cytokines in driving skeletal metabolism. Our research encompasses the targeting of anergic T cells to stimulate bone formation and the utilization of costimulation inhibitors targeting CD8 T cells to enhance skeletal regeneration.
