The Porters main responsibilities include receiving and processing incoming products, preparing orders for transport, and performing inventory and quality control duties. Responsible for the accurate and timely movement of supplies and food items to Retail Foods stands and portable locations throughout the convention center. This role takes place in an events-based setting, which means that schedules and hours will vary. In general, you will most likely work 6 or 8 events a year. You will turn in an availability and we will take that into account when we reach you on the scheduling list. This role is a union position under Unite Here 11. Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the union, new hires in this role start at 80% of the negotiated pay rate. After 20 shifts worked, the employee will be raised to 90% of the negotiated pay rate. After 40 shifts worked (20 at 80%, 20 at 90%), the employee will be raised to 100% of the negotiated pay rate.
