Position Duties

• Perform detailed plan reviews of various construction projects with focus on industrial, commercial, institutional (ICI) buildings, ensuring compliance with the Ontario Building Code and related standards regarding architecture, structure, life safety, and fire protection.
• Liaise with design professionals, developers, contractors, owners, and other approval agencies to complete comprehensive plan reviews.
• Provide technical and procedural information in response to customer enquiries over the counter, by telephone, and email.
• Provide preliminary plan assessments over the counter to determine adequacy of technical documentation and other applicable‑law compliance.
• Recommend corrective measures and alternatives to achieve compliance for plans and specifications that do not meet code requirements and standards.
