Job Description

Thompson Construction Group has immediate openings for Water and Sewer Pipe Layer Helpers supporting our Infrastructure division’s land development and subdivision projects in the Calgary area.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist pipe layer in general duties associated with laying pipe: cleaning and soaping pipe, ensuring alignment, barring in larger diameter pipes, etc.

  • Monitor connections as they are pushed together paying special attention to rubbers and joints, ensuring adequate connection

  • Monitor and ensure backfill of installed pipe

  • Participate in daily safety meetings and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures

  • Report all incidents, near misses, and equipment damage to site supervision

  • Maintain effective communication with supervisors and crew members

  • Work collaboratively as part of a construction crew to meet project timelines
